Regional Premiere of Modern Melbourne – Kerstin Thompson

Join us at Geelong Design Week on Friday 20th October for the regional premiere of Modern Melbourne, featuring this year’s AIA Gold Medal winner Kerstin Thompson.
Geelong Design Week is an annual community celebration of local design excellence and Geelong’s designation as Australia’s only UNESCO City of Design.

Following the screening of the Modern Melbourne film, Heritage Council of Victoria’s Ruth Redden will be joined in conversation by KTA associate principal Claire Humphreys to chat ‘future heritage’, KTA’s practice and favourite buildings.

Ruth is a registered architect and principal at NBRS Architecture, with over 15 years’ experience in building conservation and heritage planning. An alternate member of the Heritage Council of Victoria, Ruth is also a regular guest lecturer and design studio critic for the Melbourne School of Design (Melbourne University). All of her work is underpinned by the Burra Charter and the UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals.

Claire is a design leader at KTA. She has been part of the team since 2013 and has worked on a broad range of project typologies. Claire is particularly adept at maintaining a high level of design quality from a project’s inception through to the practicalities of the construction site.

The Modern Melbourne Regional Premiere is presented by Open House Melbourne in partnership with the Heritage Council of Victoria
