We believe conserving heritage places makes an important contribution to environmental, social and economic sustainability. We also encourage innovative solutions to reducing environmental impacts and improving energy efficiency, particularly in heritage houses.
These seven guidance sheets examine heritage house styles typically found in Victoria: from Victorian brick terraces to Californian bungalows and contemporary houses.
The sheets identify heritage features of the selected building types, and the costs and savings of interventions such as ceiling insulation, underfloor insulation, thermal curtains and draught sealing.
These were created from a study by RMIT University for the:

- the former Department of Sustainability and Environment.
