In Victoria, there are laws that protect our cultural heritage. Different organisations also have specific roles in our heritage protection system.
The Heritage Council of Victoria’s role is to protect and conserve places and objects that hold state-level cultural heritage significance. Other organisations are responsible for Aboriginal or local heritage.
