The 2023 Australian Heritage Festival in Victoria
Today, on International Day for Monuments and Sites, begins the 2023 Australian Heritage Festival in Victoria!
The Heritage Council of Victoria are proud sponsors of this year’s Festival, promoting greater awareness, knowledge and understanding of heritage.
Australia’s biggest annual community-driven heritage festival brings together half a million people through over a thousand events and programs during the festival period.
This year, the theme is Shared Stories and there are over 170 events organised by over 100 different organisations across the Victoria from 18 April to 18 May 2023 to encourage the sharing of passion and fascination through tales of heritage.

Traditions, languages, places, objects, and buildings, what makes them so important to us without the stories of who passed them on, how they have touched our lives? The festival is an opportunity to foster understanding of our shared histories and invite learning and participation.” – National Trust of Australia (Victoria)
