Last week, Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Margaret Gardner AC, Governor of Victoria, held a reception at Government House to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Victorian Heritage Register.

The guests were 150 people involved in cultural heritage protection over the past 50 years.

Heritage Council Chairperson, Professor Philip Goad, delivered a speech acknowledging the dedication of Victorians involved in cultural heritage. Prof Goad recognised the Victorian Heritage Register would not exist without their hard work and passion.

We thank Her Excellency for the wonderful reception. We would also like to note the significance of the event occurring at Government House.

You can read more about this place in the Victorian Heritage Database.
