The Council is seeking applications from legal professionals who wish to serve on the Council.

Vacancy

On this occasion applications are sought for one vacancy:

  • One alternate member with recognised skills or expertise in the area of heritage law, planning law or property law

This appointment will be from 1 July 2025 for a term of three years.

Position

Members are expected to attend meetings of the Council. Alternate members are expected to attend if the member is absent or unavailable or by agreement in some cases.

Members and alternate members are also expected to participate in one or more of the Council’s Committees, including sitting on registration and permit review hearing committees. It is estimated that the role would require the equivalent of 2-3 weeks of full-time work over the course of a year.

Application

We encourage applications from women, people of all ages, Aboriginal people, people with a disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and from lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, gender diverse and intersex people. Applicants from rural and regional Victoria are also encouraged to apply. We will provide adjustments to the recruitment process upon request.

Expressions of interest close on 31 March 2025.
