Without heritage, what’s our future?

Join us for a lecture and panel discussion to celebrate heritage that makes Victoria uniquely ours.

Professor Charles Sowerwine, Chair of the Royal Historical Society Victoria Heritage Committee, will lead the discussion, starting with the creation of the Historic Buildings Act 1974

  • Professor Graeme Davison will take you back to the founding years of the Register – where it all began.
  • Dr Marina Jansen will review the Register – explaining recent additions of diverse heritage. 
  • Dr Steve Campbell-Wright will bust heritage myths – exploring the Register as a tool for budding historians.

Refreshments from 5:30 pm, lecture starts at 6 pm.

This event is hosted by the Royal Historical Society Victoria. The Heritage Council of Victoria is a partner for this event.
