Morell Bridge (VHR H1440) over the Yarra River at Anderson Street, South Yarra was the first reinforced concrete bridge built in Victoria (1899) – only two years after the first reinforced concrete bridge in the world – and the first in Victoria to use the innovative Monier construction technique patented by Joseph Monier, a French manufacturer of garden ware.

CSIRAC (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation Computer, VHR H2217), held at the Melbourne Museum is highly significant as Australia’s first programmable digital computer and the only surviving intact first generation computer in the world.
