Scheduled Registration Hearings

The below Registration hearings are being conducted subject to the Heritage Act 2017.

Euroa Goods Shed, 1–11 Elliott Street, Euroa, Strathbogie Shire

On 15 January 2024, the Executive Director recommended to the Heritage Council that the Euroa Goods Shed is not of State-level cultural heritage significance and should not be included in the Heritage Register.

Submissions were received in relation to the Recommendation, and submissions requested that a hearing be held. Interested parties have been notified and a Regulatory Committee is being appointed to conduct a hearing to be held in the coming months.


Former Sunshine Technical College, 111 and 129–133 Derby Road Sunshine, Brimbank City Council

On 15 January 2024, the Executive Director recommended to the Heritage Council that the Former Sunshine Technical College not of State-level cultural heritage significance and should not be included in the Heritage Register.

Submissions were received objecting to the Recommendation and requesting that a hearing be held. Interested parties have been notified and a Regulatory Committee is being appointed to conduct a hearing to be held in the coming months.


Carngham Memorial Church, 954 Linton-Carngham Road, Snake Valley, Pyrenees Shire

On 17 November 2023, the Executive Director recommended to the Heritage Council that the Carngham Memorial Church is not of State-level cultural heritage significance and should not be included in the Heritage Register.

One submission was received objecting to the Recommendation and requesting that a hearing be held. A Regulatory Committee will hold a hearing on 15 April 2024.


Nicholas Building, 31-41 Swanston Street, Melbourne, Melbourne City

On 18 September 2023, the Executive Director recommended that the existing registration of the Nicholas Building be amended in the Heritage Register, by amending the reasons why the place is included in the Heritage Register, and determining categories of works or activities which may be carried out without a permit (permit exemptions).

Twenty-six submissions were received, three of which requested that a hearing be held. A Committee has been appointed to consider the matter and conduct a hearing.


Pella St Johns Lutheran Church Complex, 220 Pella Church Road, Rainbow, Hindmarsh Shire

On 17 July 2023, the Executive Director recommended to the Heritage Council that the Pella St Johns Lutheran Church Complex be included in the Victorian Heritage Register. Two submissions were received in response to the advertisement of the recommendation, one requesting that a hearing be held.

A Committee has been appointed and a directions hearing has been held. The substantive hearing listed on 23 February 2024 has been adjourned to allow for parties to discuss matters in dispute and report back to the Committee.
