Peter McIntyre’s practice, founded in practice in 1950, combined modern, high-technology materials with concern for “emotional functionalism” – the impact of the built environment on its occupants. He has received numerous architecture awards including Sir Zelman Cowen Medal (1987), RAIA Gold Medal (1990) and the Victoria Architecture awards Best Enduring Architecture (2014) as well as serving on many professional and community groups.
