Daryl Jackson’s significant contribution to Australian architecture began in the 1960s with the Brutalist Harold Holt Swim Centre, now included in the Victorian Heritage Register. He has received many awards for his work across Australia and internationally. In 1981 he was the first Australian architect to be awarded the Sir Zelman Cowen award and he received the Royal Australian Institute of Architects Gold Medal in 1987. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 1990.
