The Chair at Labassa

The Chair is a major installation at Labassa, 2 Manor Grove, North Caulfield, open 10.30 am to 4.30 pm each Saturday and Sunday in March.

An eclectic collection of chairs demonstrating various styles and eras, materials and design, the installation is accompanied by a Sunday lecture program.

General admission: $15, Trust members $12.  Concession and family tickets available.

Lecture program

Four expert presenters will give illustrated talks which start at 2pm on the following Sundays:

1 March: About The Chair – Curator’s Talk, Elizabeth Anya-Petrivna
8 March: Furnishing a Gentleman’s Country House; Chippendale, Trotter and the Paxton Style – Martin Purslow
22 March: Aalto to Ikea, Dr. Paul Atterbury (of Antiques Roadshow fame)
29 March: Chairs: A Status Odyssey – Ancient Greece to The Georgians, Carolyn McDowall
