Murtoa Big Weekend

Murtoa’s Big Weekend is the biggest annual event on the Murtoa calendar.

The Big Weekend is held annually over three days during the first weekend of October and will feature the National Heritage-listed “Stick Shed” which will open for public viewing on the Saturday and Sunday of the Big Weekend.

Other attractions over the weekend include an Art Exhibition, Races,  an Historical Engines display, a Monster Street Market, the Agricultural Show, a Show’n’Shine, a Family Relay Bike Ride and many other activities.  Performances by The BordererS and O’Shea-Ryan Irish Dancers will provide more entertainment over the weekend.  For added excitement, there will be ‘The Dressmaker’ 1950s Dress up Competition to coincide with the forthcoming release of the recently produced (and partly shot in Murtoa) film, The Dressmaker.
